for anyone coming to this site for the first time, welcome. as there are at present very few distributors carrying my output, it can all be found here. i think the site is pretty self-explanatory. i originally put this site up because i was urged to do so by friends who thought the information should be available-mostly the discography. if you're looking for old recordings of mine, check the discography...i may have the master to make copies of. i know it's a bit unwieldy, but i've found that most folks are only interested in one aspect of my work and therefore will only have to deal with one section of the whole. what follows below will be comments on recent doings and goings. enjoy. another new disc is nearing completion-this one, tentatively titled "if/when", is a reworking of sounds sent to me by tom cox (tac), whom i've been in contact with for a long time now. this one will be very special... a new split cd on cohort records, one track by me and one track by AMK is now available. http://cohortrecords.0catch.com. honestly, i forgot all about this one... "ROUGH MUSIC" (the hands to library) is no longer available. it proved to be too much of a hassle to continue making them. in all there were 17 copies made, and it took over a year to unload them all. i'm sure at some point someone will upload the whole thing to the internet... apologies to anyone who missed out. i've been spending my time mostly working with my gong-play, a rack of six wind gongs of various sizes played by small battery-powered fans. it's a very interesting contraption which when set in motion offers up clouds of metal harmonics that change constantly. i'm hoping to take it into the studio very soon for a really good recording. a few nights ago my old analog 4 track machine died. if anyone has a working one that they want to unload, please contact me. i'm also looking for old cassette or reel-to-reel recorders, wire recorders or dictaphones. "hindsight" has been released by www.con-v.org. it is constructed of live performance recordings from my 2006 australian tour with greg davis and lawrence english. thanks miguel! the split 3" cdr with pieces by myself and lawrence english is now sold out from the label. contact me or lawrence (room40) if you need a copy. after a long gestation, this piece that tanner menard and i made is available for download: http://www.archaichorizon.com/releases/ah026/ah026.html a cdr re-release of an old blowhole tape has come out of italy, via max gatti. his website isn't quite up yet, so check back for a link. the tape is called "reassembled" and it contains recordings from all over the b'hole map, from duos to a sextet. noisy um yeah. THE JON MUELLER/JERMAN DVD "NODES AND ANTI-NODES" IS NOW AVAILABLE, and you can
view a short clip from it on you tube: http://youtube.com/watch?v=SqBJRCav7kU the winds measure 7" is out and available from me or www.windsmeasurerecordings.net a distributor in england is carrying some of my stuff. there are photos of the packaging as well as mp3s of excerpts from some of the discs, and a selection of good work from other folks as well. www.ears-peeled.com as always, anyone wishing to release work by me is encouraged to contact me. oh yeah, there are some short animist orchestra videos on youtube, shot by dave knott at our 1/27/07 seattle show. sorry there's no link. go to youtube and do a search, lazy. |
